Who is Brooke Lee?
Brooke Lee (they/them) is a multi-talented individual who wears many hats in the entertainment industry. They are an actor, visual artist, puppeteer, stand-up comedian, and director. After graduating from VCA, Brooke has worked at esteemed theater companies such as the Malthouse, Belvoir, Sydney Theater Company, Melbourne Theater Company, Red Stitch, Darlinghurst Theater, and the National Theater in Parramatta. Currently, Brooke is playing the character of Jenny in Malthouse’s immersive production, “Hour of the Wolf.”

Brooke draws inspiration from authors, particularly their ability to craft captivating stories. Writing does not come naturally to Brooke, so they admire the writers’ dedication and perseverance. The ability to create entire worlds and discover pockets of wonder within their work fascinates Brooke. The way writers describe wild animals can make them seem like pets at times, while on other occasions, their writing can be biting and elusive.
Brooke also finds writers to be exceptional individuals to be around. They appreciate their blend of silliness, thoughtfulness, and a constant drive for ideas. Being able to enjoy their friends’ company while appreciating their writing adds a special dimension to the relationship. Some of Brooke’s favorite writer friends include Aran Thangaratnam, Callum McKay, Anchuli Felicia King, James Fraser, and Declan Furber Gillick.
How will Brooke make a difference in the world?
Brooke has a quirky plan to make a small difference in the world. They aim to turn off all bathroom sensors as they are tired of having their movements monitored during every visit. Additionally, Brooke pledges to kill every mosquito, as they question their importance in the ecosystem.
Favorite holiday destination and why?
When it comes to vacationing, Brooke’s heart lies with Wilson’s Promontory. Despite the option of choosing a cute European city, they find solace in the grounding energy of being at Wilson’s Promontory. The picturesque landscape with its orange hills, salty southern ocean, and rugged scrub creates a magical atmosphere that connects Brooke to the country and holds cherished memories.

When friends come to town, Brooke likes to take them past the bat colony along Mary Creek, allowing them to witness the intriguing spectacle. Another favorite activity is renting a rowboat at the Fairfield Boat House, which provides a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
